The second disc included with the Rosetta Stone language learning program is the language disc. This disc contains all of the data for the language program that you wish to attempt. The data is stored in RSD files located on the language disc. These files cannot be accessed, opened or mounted without first installing the Rosetta Stone application. Insert the yellow CD labelled 'Application' into your computer’s CD drive. A screen should appear asking you to select an interface language. Choose your preferred language and click 'OK.' Rosetta Stone will begin extracting the installation files, and the Rosetta Stone Setup Wizard will appear. Click 'Next' on the first page of the Setup Wizard.

Dark mode please. There are a few instances where the speech bubble points to the wrong person, which adds confusion. Otherwise, Rosetta stone is pretty good. It's very polished and has countless photos which helps the memory. They also include audio only downloads for easy listening review.

It has great learning layout and is helping me but at the same time is holding me back, if you're a beginner avoid this app. It does not explain what you're learning, I started off with the basics and it throws sentences at you with pictures and you just got to guess what it is. In the end I am picking out one to two words from each sentence to put it to the correct picture because that one word is the only word I know the meaning of.

It's easy to follow and understand. The pictures being displayed depicts our diversed world which I find very appropriate. The only problem I encountered was an issue with sound where I hadn't even repeated the word given and I got it correct. Repetition helps because I now know, understand an can confidently spell simple words in french, some of which I've never seen before. So far there have been few interruptions from ads which I find refreshing. So far so good I would certainly continue!!!!

File is NOT transferable from Win XP to Win 7.
File can be transferred from Win XP to Windows 10, as long as both machines have the same version of Rosetta Stone. You might need to run a microphone recognition step (one single click) as hardware driver on your new machine is different.
This transfer was tested on WED 2016-08-17 from Windows XP running Rosetta Stone V4 to Windows 10 x64 running the same Rosetta Stone V4.
File tracking.db3 contains progress for all users, defined on this computer. It means, you need to preserve the existing tracking.db3 file and rename it back, when you are done.
